Happy Holidays!
I hope all my readers are having a lovely break. I am writing this from an Easter weekend yoga retreat run by two old friends, Dina Cohen and Norman Blair. We all started teaching around the same time - 2001 - so it’s fabulous to be able to re-connect and spend time together and do a bit of reminiscing. Oxonhoath was built in 1532 as a stately home and is surrounded by 73 acres of gardens in the beautiful Kent countryside. This is a very special place, and a special time of year to be able to recharge the battery, experience great yoga classes with great teachers and reflect a bit on what I’ve been doing - and what’s coming up in the next few months. (If anyone is tempted, Dina will be running another retreat here in the Autumn).
Retreat at Fishley Hall
Last weekend I co-taught a weekend retreat with my dear friend and colleague Pema Clark at a location a bit closer to home, the gorgeous Fishley Hall. Only 30 minutes away from Norwich, this is a perfect place to relax and unwind. the house is so cosy, with two sitting rooms (both with fires!), luxurious bathrooms and each bedroom individually decorated. The food was superb, Julia and her team from Purple Plum Catering pulled out all the stops. It was a truly magical weekend which both Pema and I thoroughly enjoyed. We are already planning a winter weekend break so get in touch to register your interest.
Here’s what some of the retreat-er’s had to say.
Thank you both so much for a truly wonderful experience on the yoga retreat – it far exceeded our expectations. The yoga was brilliant (I think Mick is converted!) And the venue, food, company and all the many extras were very much appreciated.

Restorative yoga at home
Fancy doing some Restorative yoga but don’t have any props to hand? As I’m here at Oxonhoath with Dina, I thought I’d get her to show us how….
My next monthly Restorative practice happens on Friday 29th April. 6.30-8pm. Happy Om. Capitol House. Heigham Street. Norwich NR2
The Yoga Room Podcast
I hope you enjoyed the first episode as much as I enjoyed making it. This month I interview the amazing Hayley Winter, Founder and Director of the Institute for Yoga Sports Science. Hayley has been teaching yoga for 21 years and practising for way longer. Some of you will have doubtless been to her classes in Norwich back in the day.
She’ll be talking to me all the way from Brooklyn, NY where she now lives, sharing her experiences on the yoga path as well as talking about her ground-breaking work bringing yoga teaching and training into the digital space. Stay tuned!
Coming up…
Training for Yoga teachers
May - Hypermobility 101 with Abby & Bene Gattari.
June. Mindfulness & Nidra Training with Dina Cohen.
I hope you have all had a wonderful long weekend and are feeling a sense of renewal. May all the seeds you planted last year in the bleak midwinter now start to emerge and bloom!
As always, much love.
